This is known as MYLC's trademark event and we wish to keep it that way by providing our young audience an opportunity to learn practical ways to be an effective leader. The goal is to network with various schools, universities, institutions, organizations, etc. to reach as many youth as we possibly can and make them aware of MYLC and how we can help them become an effective leader for the future. We will provide them with an opportunity to be active in their community and to help out young individuals like themselves. Networking with the youth in our community and getting them involved with our own events such as the mini-MYLC workshops and various other initiatives as well as other events and programs.

Community networking with as many high school MSAs to coordinate a successful food drive that will encourage not only the Muslim student body at every school but the general student body as a whole. This is an attempt at educating individuals about the importance of issues such as poverty that we are faced with as a community and world wide. The 2005 food drive ended with a total collection of 1140 food items that will be donated to Food Path and Muslim Welfare Center. Thank you to all who participated in this worthy event. We hope that next year, we will break our last year's record and hold a bigger food drive involving greater number of participants.

Ever since MYLC was founded there was a desire to work with MYAC - Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee. MYLC and MYAC have similar targets, similar stresses on community and politics, and similar acronyms. Therefore, it is only natural that we form some sort of arrangement for the benefit of both groups. We worked with them last year and introduced the Youth Forum, which was the brainchild of specific MYLC members and we hope to continue working on this front by expanding the event and our outreach in the 2006 annual Youthweek event in Mississauga.

Community networking with CAIR-CAN as well as many high school MSAs we can reach to coordinate a successful workshop that will concentrate on career related issues. We think this is an important topic since not only Muslim students but students in general need a lot of assistance in choosing their careers and planning their future. This is an attempt to work with established organizations such as CAIR-CAN that have had tried networking with the youth but didn’t get a very positive response. MYLC will try to close the gap and get more and more young individuals involved in their initiatives and get the opportunity to get educated by young Muslim professionals.
